Things are heating up...
Early spring has come and gone with out much action on my end. But as the shallows are getting warm the bass have
began to crowd the shorelines of Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair. The pike are in the post spawn feeding binge, and the
carp are easing their way into the shallows as well. It's a great time to be a warm-water fly fisherman, actively
fishing flies with devastating hits and lots of options to choose from. This might be my favorite time of year for fishing
because it's not dependant on any other factors right now, You don't need rain to bring the fish into the rivers,
you don't need a strong wind to cool things down, its just the time of year...that's it... Get out and enjoy
it as often as possible.

At Great Lakes Fly we specialize in quality flies that are proven to catch fish in the big waters of the
Great Lakes Region. Whether you are targeting smallmouth bass on the flats of Lake St. Clair, giant lake run brown trout on
the shoreline of Lake Huron, chinook salmon in the tributaries, or hitting the flats of Grand Traverse Bay for it's abundant
golden bones, we offer flies that can handle the task; They keep your rod bent and and your smile wide. A lot of the flies you will find here are hybrids of two or more patterns that we have experimented with and found
catch fish with success. Here you will find: - Great
Lakes Surf Flies for Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout
- Big
Streamers for Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Pike, Largemouth Bass, and Anything else that will hit them
- Smallmouth Bass slayers like the Rattling Murdich Minnow, Clouser Minnow, and Krystal Zonker
- Critters that represent big nymphs, crayfish, and anything else thats edible close to the bottom. Carp, Sheephead,
and Bass can't resist a meaty morsel close to the bottom.
